hey there, Delilah

NO --- not the Plain White Tees, Delilah...but, that radio personality, Delilah.
I found her online =)
She reminds me of that "Dr. Marsha Fieldstone" character from Sleepless in Seattle but, less intrusive and extremely heartfelt, soothing, and loving.
Her callers always have the most amazing and hopeful stories and she always plays the best music. I love her.
And that voice of hers, wow...I just want her to read to me -- anything, the newspaper, the ingredients on my can of soup, anything.

Summer to the rescue.

So, it's almost 1am on an early Saturday morning...There's nothing to watch on TV or DVR sooooo...I'm watching 500 Days of Summer for like the 503rd time. NO-JOKE!!!

It has, officially, cracked my top 5 fave movies.

Every Road Leads Back To You
Keali'i Reichel and Robi Kahakalau

Keali`i:
Old friend, here we are,
lookin' back at all the years and tears that we've been through.
It feels so good to see you.
Lookin' back in time,
there's been other friends and other lovers,
but no other one like you.
All my life,
no one ever has known me better.

I must have traveled down a thousand roads.
Been so many places, seen so many faces,
always on my way to somethin' new, oh.
But it doesn't matter 'cause no matter where I go,
every road leads back,
every road just seems to lead me back to you.

Robi:
Old friend, there were times
I didn't want to see your face or hear your name again.
Now those times are far behind me.
It's so good to see your smile.
I'd forgotten how you were the one
who'd make me smile the way you do.
All this time,
you're the one that I want beside me.

I must have traveled down a thousand roads.
Been so many places, seen so many faces,
always on my way to somethin' new, oh.
But it doesn't matter 'cause no matter where I go,
every road leads back,
every road just seems to lead me back to you.

Both:
I must have traveled down a thousand roads.
Been so many places, seen so many faces,
always on my way to somethin' new, oh.
But it doesn't matter 'cause no matter where I go,
every road leads back,
every road just seems to lead me back to you.

Robi: Every road just seems to lead me back...
Keali`i: Oo...
Both: to you.

iHeart

Dear IHeartRadio,

Every since I discovered and downloaded you onto my BB, I've been listening to Hawaii stations KSSK and Krater on the regular. I MISS people talking pidgin (kinda), listening to the traffic reports and to (some) Hawaiian music. Makes me feel like I'm still at home.

I THANK YOU.

LoveAlwaysXOXO, Laur

Yesss, there's MORE to do in Vegas than just go clubbing, get drunk, or a mixture of the two.

Dood had the probably the best view of the strip.
DON'T FALL!!!!!!!!!!

MEEEEEAN:
1. Snow capped mountains.
2. Cruising in a truck.

Well said.

The Return of Sade

Not to say she's ever left but, Sade is back and gracing us with "Soldier of Love."

When I heard news of her new CD on Twitter, I googled everything I could about it, hoping it wasn't a rumor.

I've always had a love affair with Sade's music. Especially since it reminds me of a time in my life that I have never been more in love...yes, yes...it reminds me of my first love *siiigh*

Her sound is unmistakable and I think she and the music she brings has been sorely missed. They definitely don't make music like hers anymore...

I wasn't particularly fond of their performance on David Letterman...because well, I wasn't sure if he knew who she was...but, this 106&Park performance is PERFECT for Valentine's Day, xoxo

trust me; you'll thank me later

Living. Local. Las Vegas.

Been living in Vegas for half a year now *phew, wow* and people always ask me how I like it…..What can I really say? I moved from a beautiful paradise that only most people can dream about visiting (Hawaii) to the city of sin --- Yeah, I know --- WHAT WAS I THINKING? lol

My answer to all those questions was: I NEEDED A CHANGE!!!

For someone that was born and raised in Honolulu, I can tell you that I could never have imagine myself living away from “The Rock.” Thought I was going to live and die in Hawaii, honestly.

Don't get me wrong; "living" in Hawaii is far from "Hell"...but, there's the thing: I wasn’t "living"…I was doing the “same old, work on the weekdays just to party on the weekends” kinda life.

And as a person that fights tooth and nail against change, I did the ultimate in it and decided to move an ocean away…..away from the only life I’ve ever known…for something more.

Moving hasn’t been easy. It still isn't easy. But, like anything, each-day-gets-BETTER!

I miss home a lot. Prolly because I miss what made it a home - my friends, the food, the beach!

But, I’m trying my b e s t to make this house a home.

Living with family makes it easy. Granted, I was living on my own for so long that it took some getting used to the whole “where you going/what time you coming home” deals again…But, for the most part, it’s amazing to watch my nephew grow - kids really DO learn so much every single day! Or pick my niece up from school - she’s embarrassed to hug me bye in the mornings - am I really that uncool now? Or even just to hang out and talk with my mom - she’s getting older so, it’s nice to have this time…

More than anything, having the 2 besties here makes this journey all the more better! I’m glad I have them here to experience this life with me =)

It's my anniversary.

For the six month anniversary of my move to Vegas (yesterday), thought I'd start a blog.

I've been considering a blog for a while now but, writing for me has always been really personal. And I wasn't sure if I was ready to have others read them.

But, I figure "FUCK IT!" lol

I hope you enjoy reading them as I've enjoyed writing them.
